What Terrank collects, why, and what we never do with it.

Terrank collects the account details you sign up with and the brief you fill in when ordering an audit or a plan. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers, we never see your card details, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.

Who we are

Terrank provides Generative Engine Optimization audits — we score how likely a website is to be cited by AI engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. We are based at DTU, New Delhi 110042, India. For anything in this policy, email [email protected].

What we collect

Only what the service needs to work. There is no hidden collection and no profiling.

When you create an account

  • Your email address and name
  • Your password, stored only as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read it, and nobody at Terrank can tell you what it is
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email, name and profile picture URL. Nothing else — we request only the email and profile permissions

When you order an audit or a plan

The brief you fill in before payment: your company name, website URL, primary goal, the queries and competitors you care about, which AI engines to cover, your business type, and any notes you add. On paid plans this also includes which marketing or technical help you asked for.

When you request custom pricing

Your name, email, company, phone number if you give one, website URL, how many sites you need covered, how often, your budget band, and your requirements.

When you pay

We store the PayPal transaction or subscription ID, the amount, the currency, and the email address the payment came from.

We never see your card or bank details. Payment happens entirely on PayPal's own pages. Terrank only receives confirmation from PayPal that a payment succeeded, and verifies that confirmation with PayPal directly before granting anything.

What we do not collect

  • No advertising or analytics trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no third-party tracking script anywhere on this site
  • No card, bank or payment credentials
  • No cross-site tracking or profiling
  • No marketing cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is your sign-in token, which is what keeps you logged in

Why we use it

  • To run your account — signing you in and showing you what you have bought
  • To deliver the work you paid for — your brief is what the audit is built from
  • To verify payments — confirming with PayPal that money genuinely arrived before creating a record
  • To reply to you — answering a custom pricing request or a support email

We do not use your data for anything else, and we do not send marketing email you did not ask for.

Who else sees it

Three services, each doing one job. None of them receive your brief or your audit results.

  • PayPal — processes payments. They receive what you enter on their own checkout, and tell us only that a payment succeeded
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, and only to confirm who you are
  • DigitalOcean — hosts the site and the database

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We would only disclose it if legally required to.

How long we keep it

Account and order records are kept while your account exists, and afterwards only as long as needed for tax and accounting obligations. An unpaid draft — a brief you started but did not pay for — stops being offered back to you after seven days.

Your rights

Email [email protected] and we will action any of these:

  • A copy of everything we hold about you
  • Correction of anything wrong
  • Deletion of your account and its data
  • An explanation of how any of it is used

No account needed to ask, and no charge. We aim to respond within one working day and will not take longer than 30 days.

Security

  • The whole site is served over HTTPS
  • Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes, never in a readable form
  • Sign-in tokens are signed and expire after 30 days
  • Payment confirmations are verified with PayPal directly, so a forged confirmation cannot grant anything

Cookies

Terrank sets no advertising or analytics cookies. Signing in stores a token in your browser so you stay logged in; clearing your browser data removes it and signs you out. That is the only thing we store on your device.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Terrank after a change means you accept the updated policy.
